Critical Event Management
Mitel Critical Event Management (CEM) is an end to end platform for orchestrating the full lifecycle of critical events, from real time threat detection and multi channel alerting through to coordinated response workflows and post-event reporting. By integrating communications, IoT sensors, building systems, and emergency response plans into a unified operations center dashboard, CEM enables organizations to minimize response times, protect people, and maintain business continuity during any type of critical event.
Unified operations center dashboard aggregating threat feeds, sensor data, and communications in real time
Automated escalation workflows triggered by pre-defined threat thresholds or manual activation by authorized staff
Multi-channel mass notification integrated
with Revolution for simultaneous broadcast across all configured channels
Incident command tools
for coordinating response teams with task assignment, status tracking, and audit trails
Post-event analytics and compliance reporting
for regulatory requirements and continuous improvement planning
Mitel Critical Event Management (CEM) builds on Revolution Mass Notification to provide a complete end to end critical event lifecycle platform. While Revolution handles the notification broadcast, CEM adds real time threat detection from IoT sensors and building systems, automated escalation workflows, incident command coordination tools, and post-event compliance reporting, covering the full arc from threat detection through notification, coordinated response, and post-incident review.
CEM integrates with IoT sensors, building management systems, access control systems, and external threat intelligence feeds. When sensor data or incoming alerts exceed pre-configured threat thresholds, CEM automatically triggers the appropriate escalation workflow, initiating notifications through Revolution, assigning response tasks to the relevant teams, and updating the unified operations center dashboard without requiring manual intervention during the initial moments of an incident.
The incident command module provides a structured coordination environment for emergency response teams during an active event. Supervisors can assign specific tasks to team members, track completion status in real time, communicate through integrated channels, and maintain a full audit log of all actions taken and decisions made during the incident, reducing confusion and ensuring accountability throughout the response.
CEM uses role-based access controls to define which staff can initiate alerts, which can manage ongoing incidents, and which have read-only visibility of the operations dashboard. Typically, security operations staff, facility managers, and senior executives are granted activation authority, while response team leaders receive coordination access and broader staff receive notification-only access. All activation events are logged with the authorizing user's identity for audit purposes.
CEM generates post-event reports documenting the full timeline of an incident, including the triggering event, notification actions taken, acknowledgement rates, response task completion, and resolution. These reports meet the audit trail requirements of common regulatory frameworks in healthcare, government, and critical infrastructure sectors, and can be exported in standard formats for submission to regulators or for internal review processes.
